Little more than three hours’ flying time from most European cities, the region is served by the airports of Marrakech, Agadir, Casablanca, Fez and Tangier. EasyJet and Ryanair are already operating various low-cost flights – with more sure to follow. At its narrowest point, Morocco is separated from Spain by only a 14-kilometre stretch of Mediterranean, and currently there are plans on the drawing-board to build a tunnel connecting it to mainland Europe.
